Privacy
This notice explains what personal information Kartmos (kartmos.com) collects, why, and what your rights are. Kartmos is run by KARTMOS LTD (company number 17539759), which is responsible for your data (the data controller). For anything about your data, email hello@kartmos.com.
What we collect
- When you order: your name, email address, phone number, delivery and billing address, and what you bought. Card details are handled by our payment provider, Stripe, and never reach us.
- When you order a personalised item: the photo or text you upload for printing. Before a photo leaves your device, your browser makes a fresh copy of it, which removes location and camera data. So you can edit an item from your basket, your browser also keeps your last few designs on your own device; that copy isn't sent to us.
- When you email us: your message and email address.
- When you browse: our host keeps short-lived technical logs, such as your IP address and the pages requested, to keep the site running and secure.
Cookies
We use one cookie, which remembers what's in your basket. The site needs it to work, so we don't ask for consent.
If you say OK on our cookie banner, we also use Meta's ads pixel, which sets its own cookies (such as _fbp), to see which of our Facebook and Instagram ads lead to visits and orders. It doesn't run unless you agree, and you can change your mind at any time with Cookie settings at the bottom of every page. We don't use any other advertising or analytics cookies. After you order, Google's optional review survey box may set Google's own cookies (see Who we share it with).
Why we use it
- To take payment, send your order and help with any problems. We need this to fulfil our contract with you.
- To keep tax and accounting records, as the law requires.
- To protect the site from fraud and abuse, which is in our legitimate interests.
- To measure our ads, only if you've agreed to the ads cookie. You can withdraw that at any time.
- To ask Google to send you a review survey, only if you agree in Google's box after you order.
Who we share it with
- Stripe, which processes payments.
- Our suppliers and their delivery companies, who get your name, address and phone number so they can deliver your order. Some are outside the UK, including in China. We only share what they need to send your parcel.
- Our UK printers (Inkthreadable and YourDesign), who get the design to print plus your name and delivery address to send it.
- Our website host and email provider, which store data for us.
- Meta (Facebook and Instagram), only if you agree to the ads cookie: the pages you visit here and the value of any order, so we can measure our ads.
- Google, only if you say yes in Google's survey box after you order: your email address, order number and expected delivery date, so Google can email you one short survey about your order. Your rating feeds Google's public rating of our shop. Google handles this under its own privacy policy, and its box may set Google's own cookies.
We never sell your information.
How long we keep it
We keep order records for six years, because tax law requires it, then delete them. Emails are deleted once they're no longer needed.
Photos and designs uploaded for personalised items are used only to make your order. They're stored privately and are never shown publicly or used in our marketing. If you don't complete an order, they're deleted 48 hours after upload; otherwise 14 days after your order is delivered.
Your rights
You can ask for a copy of your information, ask us to correct or delete it, or object to how we use it. Email hello@kartmos.com. If you're unhappy with how we've handled your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
